Diaspora Turks: Turkish Image and Islamophobia in Europe
Abstract
Relations between Turks and Europeans date back centuries. Although political frictions and conflicts came to the fore in the early stages of this relationship, it is seen that there have been important developments in these relations both culturally and socially. However, these conflicts negatively affected and directed the images of both groups about each other. In this context, Europeans created negative images and stereotypes about Turks, and this caused marginalization (p. 7). These negative images, stereotypes and marginalization continue today.
